The Art of Creating A Grounded Goal
Once upon a time, there was a Pisces named Charnay-Ellesse. She spent most of her days daydreaming about what her life could be. Day after day, year after year, she watched her life pass her by until one day, she used her Taurus moon to ground herself and bring her dreams to reality. Through hard work, self-realization, self-discipline, accountability, and crying sessions, she learned how to set a goal and make a plan. She lived happily ever after…The End.
Beautiful! Yes, it is based on a true story about my life; however, it sounds better when put as a Disney-like script. Unlike the story you just read, it was not short, and it's still a process. However, I have learned the art of creating a plan and the importance of grounding it. I've tried many times to start something, and I was quickly overwhelmed because I thought I could skip the process of developing (that's the dreamer in me). Creating, I've learned, doesn't work in just one way. It's a process of manifesting your thoughts and dreams into reality, creating action, and watching your hard work return to you as you move through the process. It's pretty beautiful.
As promised, I have created "The Art of Creating a Mindful Grounded Plan" to help all zodiac signs start and complete their goals.
Step #1 - Pick A Goal
Step #2 - Know Your Reason
Step #3 - List The Benefits
Step #4 - Put A Date On It
Step #5 - Prep, Prime and Grind
Step #6 - Know Yourself (Problems + Solutions)
Step #7 - Start Creating Your Art
Step 1 - Pick A Goal
You are most likely reading this blog because you have a goal in mind that you want to accomplish, which is wonderful! If you are anything like me, you have 5,000 goals you would like to set and accomplish. It's always great to have things you are striving for; however, you must remember that in order to walk, you must put one foot in front of the other.
Translations: "Girl, just pick one, and lets go."
Pisces Tip: Pick a goal that is meaningful to your life that can move you forward.
If you are having trouble picking a mindful goal, click the button below to read tips on becoming mindful when choosing one.
Step 2 - Know Your Reason
Now that you have a goal put a purpose behind it. Knowing your reason will help you through the tough times.
Story Time:
My psychology Professor, who is my mentor and a Psychologist, said, "Never ask a person WHY because if they knew WHY, they wouldn't be seeking help. Also, a person becomes defensive when you ask WHY. Instead, ask them how come.” This advice has always stuck with me.
Step 3- List The Benefits
If I didn't know wearing heels tone your butt and legs I might not wear them.
If I didn't know water helped your skin glow I would drink less water.
If I didn't know navy blue eyeliner made my beautiful brown eyes pop I wouldn't wear it.
We are all somewhat motivated by selfish reasons, and that's okay. Learn how to use them to your advantage. (Marketing companies do….)
List out at least three benefits that your goal will provide for you. This will motivate you to take the steps needed to plan your goal.
Your list may look something like this;
Goal: Work Out
Reason: I want to make working out part of my lifestyle
Benefits:
Improves mood.
Boosts energy.
Promotes better sleep
*You may have to do a little web surfing to discover the benefits of your goal. My biggest suggestion would be to look at .org, .gov, and .edu sites as credible sources.
Step 4 - Put A Date On It
If you like it, then you should put a date on it!
I'm not talking about marriage, silly Billy. I'm talking about your goal. Putting a date and duration on your goal allows for accountability and measurability.
Sidenote: Did you check out those legs on the GIF!?
This is the reason I love wearing heels 😍
Duration:
Month:
Year:
Example
Duration: Twice a week Month: December Year: 2022
*Pisces Tip: Set yourself up for success. Talk with all of you (ID, Super-ego, and Ego) and decide on a realistic timeframe.
Step 5 - Prep, Prime and Grind
Whether your goal is to work or save $500, you need to know what items are necessary to succeed.
Prep, Prime, and Grind are meant to determine what, where, and the cost of the items that meet your goal.
Example: If you want to work out, list the following;
Prep and Prime
What type of exercise:
O Cardio
O Weight lifting
O Yoga
Where will you work out:
O At the gym with a Trainer
O At the park and YouTube
Are workout clothes and shoes needed? Yes
Grind
Cost for a gym membership: $55 per month plus registration fee $99
Cost for a Trainer: $150 per month
Cost for Park: Free (Gas)
YouTube: Free (pay wifi bill)
Cost for workout clothes: $100
Cost for Workout shoes: $65
Sidenote: According to Helpguide.org, "A number of studies have demonstrated a cyclical link between financial worries and mental health problems such as depression, anxiety, and substance abuse. Financial problems adversely impact your mental health. The stress of debt or other financial issues leaves you feeling depressed or anxious."
*On a Future Post I will go more in depth about financial planning for your goals.*
Step 6 - Know Yourself
(Problems + Solutions)
Prevention is key; however, certain situations in life must be faced before growth can occur. These situations can cause stress; however, you can persevere and strengthen your self-efficacy with the proper support.
Seven facets affect your well-being

Emotional
Environmental
Financial
Intellectual
Physical
Social
Spiritual
Highlight which one you may struggle with while reaching your goal and provide a simple solution.
Example:
Problem: I don't believe I will be successful at working out.
Solution: Create an affirmation you read daily (I am successful at working out)
Problem: I'm not too fond of the gym
Solution: I will work out at the park
Problem: I can't afford the workout shoes I want
Solution: I will wear my shoes and cut back on eating out until I can get the shoes I want.
Pisces Note: I have found through experience that emotional, environmental and Financial facets play a large role initially when starting a goal. Invite people in that value your growth and they may be able to help support you through your challenging times.
Step 7 - Start Creating Your Art
Use steps 4 through 6 to create a checklist, and as you complete them, check off and celebrate each accomplishment, no matter how small.
Example
O Commit to working out on Tuesdays at the park and at home using YouTube on Thursdays
O Pick out and purchase workout Clothes
O Create an affirmation and say it daily
O Buy Groceries for the week (Weekly)
*Bonus*
O Put $20 away every week for 5 weeks ($100)
O Complete your 5th week mark of working out every Tuesday and Thursday
O Rewards yourself for working out 5 weeks straight with a new pair of workout shoes
*Bonuses may help motivate you and create healthy habits for your well-being. Set your bonus at the point at which you notice that you tend to give up*
Building your Foundation takes time and adjustments, much like that filter on Instagram or that TikTok you just posted. Give yourself grace, and before you know it, you are subconsciously and unconsciously grounding your goals, and when it's time to put them in motion, you are simply bringing them to your conscious mind and creating your reality in the physical realm.
Well, my zodiac signs now you have the foundation to start your goal. Your feet are firmly planted on the ground (or your fins in the water). Now, it's time to put your plans in motion. You are more than capable of achieving anything that your heart desires. That, my dear, is where the art truly lies...
Sincerely,
Charnay Ellesse Brandon
